The five writers listed here are by far the people who have benefited most from what Sullivan called a “master class in commercial fiction.” To date, Patterson has worked with nearly twenty co-authors, so there’s enough data out there to figure out whether working with James Patterson helps your career or not. Plus, they get prominent credit for the book, which exposes them to Patterson’s huge fan base and no doubt increases their sales-or you would assume it would. They get paid, of course, and while it’s safe to assume Patterson gets the lion’s share of the profits, certainly they must make a tidy sum.
