![]() ![]() So for instance, there may still be a United States, but the United States government must answer to the king and queen. It is also a possibility that the planet retains the original governments, but with Crystal Tokyo ruling over them. ![]() Governments might like their sovereignty now, but they might change their tune if they think their planet is going to be imploded by a bunch of super-powered aliens without the protection of an equally powerful king and queen. I say this because it would take some mighty extreme conditions to cause the planet to freeze, or for all the world's (or at least Crystal Tokyo's that's never made clear) buildings to be replaced by crystals, and it is very likely that the planet comes close to destruction in the process. Whether it occurs after a long period of global freezing, as in the anime, or happens all at once, like in the manga, it is very likely that there is some sort of battle or full-out war taking place beforehand. Being that in the manga Mamoru is repeatedly referred to as the Prince of the Earth in the present time, carries the Golden Crystal, and bears powers of and sensitivity towards the Earth as a whole (see: the entire Dream arc), then I think it is safe to say that the past life continues to apply in the present one.įor that matter, I don't quite remember, but wasn't the time of Crystal Tokyo referred to as a second Silver Millennium somewhere in the manga, or did I just make that up? It seems to me that the marriage of Usagi and Mamoru would give them joint jurisdiction over both Mamoru's territory-the Earth-and Usagi's territory-the other planets of the solar system (even though her territory is relatively deserted and uninhabitable there must be some method of making the planets habitable again if they can ship people off to Nemesis without trouble).Ĭlick to expand. It's relatively unknown under what conditions, manga or anime, Crystal Tokyo erupts. That's very likely to be one of original reasons that the Black Moon-types rejected the new society that was ruled by Endymion and Serenity.Ĭlick to expand. With that line of reasoning, then Usagi has no jurisdiction over any of her inheritance from the Silver Millennium, including the ginzuishou or her position as Princess of the Moon. However, I can imagine that some people weren't exactly thrilled about the idea of being ruled by two people (in the anime and most likely in the manga). The other countries don't seem to be important enough to be mentioned in the anime and manga. When people like that (Prince of the Earth, defenders of Earth) become rulers, it's not necessary to postulate hypothetical, significant government bodies on Earth that are not part of King Endymion's and Neo Queen Serenity's jurisdiction. One could quibble with that inference, but the pattern "Prince of Earth becoming King of Earth" is much more analogous than "Prince of Earth becoming King of just a certain part of Earth." Moreover, if Neo Queen Serenity is King Endymion's royal wife, and both of them are responsible for the safety of the planet, then she should be the Queen of the Earth. If Mamoru is the prince of the Earth, and the planet is part of his collection of inheritances, we would use inference to say that he should be the King of the Earth when he becomes King Endymion. At one point, Usagi tells us that she and Mamoru are the main defenders of Earth. At any rate, we do know that Mamoru, as Endymion, is the prince of the Earth. No other part of Earth is ever mentioned to be particularly significant. ![]() However, I did notice that whenever Diana and King Endymion talk about their affiliations in relation to Earth and Crystal Tokyo, they tend to use "Earth" generally and "Crystal Tokyo" in particular. I don't remember anyone specifically saying that Neo Queen Serenity is the ruler of Earth in the manga. Crystal Tokyo is the capital of the planet. I'm fairly certain that, in the anime, King Endymion explains that Neo Queen Serenity is the ruler of Earth. ![]()
